Genealogy Guys Are Moving Their Recorded Content to Legacy Family Tree Webinars and Discontinuing Their Standalone Education Subscription Site

MEDIA RELEASE

ODESSA, FLORIDA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Genealogy Guys Are Moving Their Recorded Content to Legacy Family Tree Webinars and Discontinuing Their Standalone Education Subscription Site

ODESSA, Florida, Jan. 1, 2025 – Aha! Seminars, Inc., producer of The Genealogy Guys Podcast, the Genealogy Connection podcast, and the Genealogy Guys Blog, has announced that it is discontinuing the operation of its Genealogy Guys Learn standalone genealogical education subscription site effective immediately.

Originally launched in 2019, Genealogy Guys Learn was the sole site providing access to large numbers of webinars previously recorded by George G. Morgan and Drew Smith. Although the site has now provided valuable educational content to its subscribers for the past five years, Aha! Seminars felt it would better serve the genealogical community to partner with Legacy Family Tree Webinars, the world’s most successful genealogy education service, a part of the services offered by global genealogy company MyHeritage. Legacy Family Tree Webinars will gradually release the Genealogy Guys Learn content, and new webinars will be published there.

Of the discontinuation, Aha! Seminars CEO George G. Morgan said, “With the new partnership with Legacy Family Tree Webinars, we look forward to reaching a wider audience with our educational genealogical presentations. We are confident that both new and experienced genealogists will enjoy finding our content on the same site that already features thousands of other webinars offered by hundreds of the best presenters in the genealogical community.”

Geoff Rasmussen, Founder and Host of Legacy Family Tree Webinars, said, "We're excited to welcome The Genealogy Guys to our webinar series. George and Drew have long been known for their excellent work in genealogy education. Legacy Family Tree Webinars members will enjoy the new benefit of having access to their content at https://familytreewebinars.com/genealogyguys."

Preview of the New Genealogy Guys Learn Site

By now you've already heard about the launch of the new Genealogy Guys Learn subscription educational site at https://genealogyguyslearn.com. In a separate blog post, we have shared the press release and provided links to it on Facebook, Twitter, and in genealogy sites across the Internet. Be sure to listen to our special podcast #368 for full details and more.

I want to share some images of the new website to help pique your interest in our content. Let's start with our main screen.

We're launching with five written self-study courses. Work at your own speed and mark lessons as you complete them so you know how you are progressing. More courses come every month.

We're launching with twelve videos too. Work at your own speed and mark lessons as you complete them so you know how you are progressing. We will add at least one new video every month.

We also offer a great Resource area. It includes:
  • Links to Our BooksHow to Do Everything: Genealogy which supplements the lessons and videos; Advanced Genealogy Research Techniques which helps get past your brick walls; and Organize Your Genealogy: Strategies and Solutions for Every Researcher, the definitive guide to getting organized.
  • Printed Materials contains links at the time of launch to 28 books referred to in the courses and videos you may want to consult or add to your own library. We also have a selection of quick sheets and links to magazines. This area will grow as new printed resources are included in new courses and videos.
  • The Products area offers links to software, hardware, and services, and this list will grow with time.
  • Useful Links is a collection of key online resources mentioned in our materials, and this list will grow as new courses and videos are added.

Last but not least, we have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) area to help you along.

The annual subscription price for Genealogy Guys Learn is $99. That comes out to $8.25 a month for all the site’s many resources you want to use. And don't forget that new content will be added each month and we'll announce these on The Genealogy Guys Podcast, in The Genealogy Guys Blog, at The Genealogy Guys Podcast & Genealogy Connection Facebook page, and on our Twitter feed

Learn from George and Drew, internationally recognized genealogy experts, presenters, authors, podcasters, and researchers! We have a lot of great content to offer you!

Launch of New Genealogy Education Subscription Site: Genealogy Guys Learn

ODESSA, Florida, Oct. 1, 2019

Aha! Seminars, Inc., the producer of The Genealogy Guys Podcast, the Genealogy Connection podcast, and The Genealogy Guys Blog is pleased to announce the launch of Genealogy Guys Learn (genealogyguyslearn.com), a subscription-based educational website designed to provide genealogy courses and videos for researchers of all skill levels.
At its launch, Genealogy Guys Learn consists of 5 text/image-based courses on such topics as basic research, intermediate research, the Social Security Death Index, wills and probate records, and military records. Genealogy Guys Learn also contains a dozen recorded presentations by George G. Morgan and Drew Smith, including All About the U.S. Federal Census, Principles of Effective Evidence Analysis, Finding Archived Newspapers, and Organizing Your Research Process.

Another feature of the Genealogy Guys Learn website is that it provides quick access to information about books written by George G. Morgan and Drew Smith; other recommended books, quick sheets, and magazines; recommended software, hardware, and online services; and links to websites related to the content provided in the courses and videos.

“Drew Smith and I have been speaking at genealogy conferences for decades,” said George G. Morgan, president of Aha! Seminars, Inc. “But attending conferences is not always practical or within the budget for all genealogists. With the launch of Genealogy Guys Learn, we’re able to provide our affordable educational services directly to the genealogist in their own homes on their own schedules.”

The Genealogy Guys Learn website automatically keeps track of courses and videos users have viewed, so that users can see their progress at a glance. The website will be updated each month with additional content (new courses or videos), providing continuing value to the subscribers. Subscribers will be able to provide feedback to George and Drew as to which topics they would most like to see added in the future.

We have released a special episode of The Genealogy Guys Podcast with full details, and have released an  additional blog posting called "Preview of the New Genealogy Guys Learn Site" with screen shots and more details.
